Aquarium and Lanterna of Genoa

One ticket for two entries: the Aquarium of Genoa and the Lanterna, the lighthouse of the port of Genoa, with 172 steps to the first panoramic terrace. Take this if you want to see the city from above on the same day as the tanks.

Aquarium and Lanterna of Genoa

The experience

The ticket includes two entries: the Aquarium of Genoa and the Lanterna, the port lighthouse that the listing presents as a symbol of the city. At the Lanterna, you climb the first 172 steps on foot to the panoramic terrace. It starts from $39 per person (GetYourGuide, October 2026), with free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

The time slot you choose on GetYourGuide applies to the Lanterna, not to the Aquarium. The listing asks you to book the Aquarium date and time separately on ticket.acquariodigenova.it/biglietti-open; if you do not, it says you enter at the first available time slot. The Aquarium lets people in by half-hour, so booking lets you choose when.

The official fixed-date ticket starts from 26 euros online for an adult: the price is dynamic, ranges from 26 to 34 euros and changes with the season, date, time slot and demand (the Aquarium's slogan is «the earlier you buy, the less you pay»). At the ticket desk it costs 34 euros. The chosen date and time slot are binding and that ticket is non-refundable; Open Flexi costs 38 euros and allows one date change. They are sold by acquariodigenova.it and the ticket desks at the entrance.

The climb is not for everyone. The listing advises against it for pregnant women, those with back or heart problems, those with mobility issues and wheelchair users. Comfortable shoes and clothes are required; high heels and animals are not allowed. The transfer between the Aquarium and the lighthouse is not included.

What travellers say

★★★★★

[...] The aquarium is really worth a visit! The dolphins are particularly nice and can be admired from different levels :) The penguins, sharks and all the other creatures are also impressive. The climb to the Lanterna is worth the effort, if you can then see Genoa from above!

★★★★★

The aquarium is splendid! We spent a lovely morning. With the combined ticket we booked the Lanterna visit for the afternoon (at 17:00): we got there by bus 1 from in front of the aquarium, plus a short 10-minute walk. It is absolutely worth it.
